Palestinian Feminism on Facebook A Study by Researcher Nahed Abu Tuaima Reveals the Battles of Consciousness in the Digital Space

As part of the doctoral research conducted by researcher Nahed Abu Tuaima, a peer-reviewed study titled Representations of Palestinian Feminism on Facebook was published in the Arabian Gulf Journal of Humanities and Social Studies, Volume 6, Issue 16.

The study examines representations of Palestinian feminism in the digital sphere by analyzing feminist discourse and counter-discourse on Facebook. It explores the nature of digital interactions and the platform's role in shaping discussions on women's issues within the Palestinian context, employing a digital ethnography approach.

The significance of this study lies in its innovative contribution to the examination of feminist identities in virtual environments, an emerging field of inquiry in Palestinian and Arab scholarship. The findings reveal how the Palestinian feminist movement is represented in the digital space and demonstrate how social media platforms—particularly Facebook—serve as arenas of symbolic struggle between forces of awareness and liberation on the one hand, and forces of misinformation and domination on the other.
